Prishtina [Pristina], 27 February: The representatives of the government of the Republic of Kosova [Kosovo] told KosovaLive that they are working intensively in order to improve the difficult energy condition in country by rational use of the existing capacities of the power plants, efficient way of money collection, and the increasing of the new production capacities for which the priority is the realization of the project for the construction of Kosova C Power Plant.

Kosova Deputy Prime Minister Hajredin Kuqi told KosovaLive that they will work every day based on the project that they have had earlier, “Kosova 2008-2012,” in order to realize the promises that they gave during the election campaign regarding the issue of energy.

He said that they will be careful in the export and import of the energy and that they will find other alternative sources.

“Our promise has begun to be realized. We have announced the National Crisis for Energy and, in accordance with this, we will take our decisions. I am convinced that, very soon, we will see the changes in energy in Kosova,” Kuqi said.

Kuqi said that one of the main reasons that are causing the difficult energy situation in Kosova is mismanagement.

“This government does not aim to replace one person with another, but to change the mentality of the management in the Kosova Energy Corporation (KEK) and other public enterprises,” Kuqi emphasized.

He said that the PDK has never been against the project for the construction of the Power Plant Kosova C, but, according to him, the PDK has been against the way of managing of the project, adding that now they will make a slight review in order to be informed with the issue of the investments, conditions, advantages and disadvantages, and so on.
