Spirit Airlines has announced the addition of new route from its Fort Lauderdale, Florida home with twice daily non-stop service between Fort Lauderdale and New York's Long Island MacArthur Airport, in the Town of Islip beginning May 1, 2008.
The new service will connect passengers to the Caribbean and Latin America via its South Florida gateway at Fort Lauderdale. Spirit's low fare mascot 'Primo' is taking the lead on launching this new service by offering his prime number fares as low as $7 each way.
Mark Kopczak, senior director of network planning at Spirit Airlines, said: "We're thrilled to offer travelers from the northeast a convenient low fare link via our Fort Lauderdale gateway to a variety of exciting destinations throughout the Caribbean and Latin America."
