Kiev, 3 March: Gazprom, the owner of Russia’s unified gas supply system, continues to pump the usual amounts of gas into the Ukrainian gas transport system, Interfax-Ukraine has learnt from the Naftohaz Ukrayiny [Ukraine's national energy company] press centre this morning.
“As of 0930 [0730 gmt], Ukraine’s gas transport system was operating in the usual mode. No reduction in the amounts of gas supplied has been observed. Gas is being supplied in the usual amounts,” the head of the Naftohaz Ukrayiny public relations directorate, Valentyn Zemlyanskyy, said.
[Gazprom said earlier that it would cut gas supplies to Ukraine by a quarter at 0700 gmt on 3 March following several rounds of failed talks - see Vesti TV news channel, Moscow, in Russian 1618 gmt 29 Feb 08.]
