Steve Tritch will step down as CEO of Westinghouse Electric Co. this summer, the Monroeville-based nuclear engineering company said today.

Tritch, 58, will remain chairman of the board of the company that has seen rapid growth in the past few years due to new major reactor contracts in China and renewed plans in nuclear power in the United States as an antidote to fossil-fuel burning energy.

Tritch will be succeeded July 1 by Aris Candris, 56, a 33-year Westinghouse veteran who became senior vice president of the nuclear fuel business in 2006.
