Continental Airlines February Load Factor Down, Traffic Up

Continental Airlines has reported a February consolidated load factor of 76%, one point below the consolidated load factor in the corresponding month in 007. The airline's mainline load factor was 76% for the month, 1.1 points below the February 2007 mainline load factor.

The company has reported a domestic mainline load factor of 80.7%, unchanged from February 2007, and an international mainline load factor of 71.3%, 1.9 points below February 2007.

In February 2008, Continental flew 6.8 billion consolidated revenue passenger miles (RPMs) and 8.9 billion consolidated available seat miles (ASMs), resulting in a traffic increase of 4.5% and a capacity increase of 5.8% as compared to February 2007.

In February 2008, Continental flew six billion mainline RPMs and 7.9 billion mainline ASMs, resulting in a mainline traffic increase of 4.8% and a mainline capacity increase of 6.4% as compared to February 2007. Domestic mainline traffic was 3.2 billion RPMs in February 2008, up 1% from February 2007, and domestic mainline capacity was four billion ASMs, up 1% from February 2007.
