Essar Oil Commissions Refinery, Looks to Consolidate Upstream Activities

Indian oil firm Essar Oil has commissioned all the processing units of its 10.5 million metric tonne per annum refinery. The firm is also consolidating its upstream exploration and production activities in a bid to build a fully integrated oil company.
Essar Oil said that all the units of its refinery are expected to reach full capacity soon. In addition, the company said that the dispatch facilities by rail and road have also been fully commissioned.
The company has decided to consolidate its upstream activities under its proposed subsidiary, Essar Exploration & Production. On completion of this exercise, Essar Oil will have nine oil & gas and coal bed methane blocks.
