March 4, 2008
Iran is expected to sign a deal with Russia’s United Aircraft Building Corp. for 100 airliners, Press TV announced Tuesday.
The deal for 100 Tu-204 and Tu-214 passenger planes is reportedly worth $2 billion to $2.5 billion.
A United Aircraft Building Corp. spokesman said Tuesday the contract would be signed in 2009 and deliveries would commence in 2010.
Iran’s Airtour Airline secured a five-jet deal through Russia’s Ilyushin Finance in 2007, the report said. The first of the five 210-seat jets is expected to be delivered in 2009.
