Vietnamese President Receives Russian MP

Hanoi (VNA) -A senior Russian law-maker expressed his hope that Vietnam and Russia will quickly sign a visa exemption agreement for their citizens to facilitate tourism and investment activities between the two countries.
The remark was made by Russia ‘s Federation Council Deputy Chairman Mikhail Nikolaev Efimovich at a reception by State President Nguyen Minh Triet on March 4.
Russia always places importance on developing its relationship with Vietnam , t he deputy chairman said.
Vietnam’s State President Triet congratulated Russia on its successful presidential election and confirmed Vietnam will do it best to consolidate and strengthen its traditional friendship and strategic partnership with Russia .
President Triet also suggested Vietnam and Russia tap economic cooperation to bring it on par with the fine political ties between the two countries.
Vietnam always encourages businesses investment in Russia , he said.
