Dushanbe, 7 March: Ukraine is ready to produce and supply four water turbines for the Roghun hydroelectric power plant in Tajikistan, Ukrainian Fuel and Energy Minister Yuriy Prodan has told an Avesta correspondent in an interview.

He said that Ukraine had supplied Roghun with two hydro turbines in the early 1990s. “Why don’t we continue cooperation and supply four more hydro turbines to Tajikistan,” the minister noted.

“Therefore, we are planning to take part in tenders for the supply of water turbines for the hydroelectric power plant being built in Tajikistan,” he added.

Answering a question as to whether Ukraine was going to invest in the implementation of energy projects in Tajikistan, Prodan said the issue should be studied first, and only then could decisions be made.

We recall that a big Ukrainian delegation led by the country’s president, Viktor Yushchenko, is in Dushanbe on an official visit.
