Lufthansa to Adjust Fuel Surcharge on Domestic and Intra-European Routes
March 11, 2008
German airline Lufthansa has reported that it will adjust its fuel surcharge on its flights on domestic and intra-European routes, due to the increase in crude oil and kerosene prices.
The surcharge will accordingly be raised by E3 and will thus amount to E17 per flight segment, effective March 13, 2008. The surcharge on long-haul flights will not be affected by this latest increase and will remain at E77 per flight segment.
The company also reported that it will continually monitor oil prices and will make any future adjustments to the fuel surcharge dependent on further trends in the price of jet fuel on the spot markets.
