Jet Airways Postpones India-South Africa Flight Plan

March 12, 2008

Jet Airways has deferred its plan to launch a new flight service from Mumbai, India to Johannesburg, South Africa from April. The airline took the decision to concentrate on more profitable destinations such as the US and China, media reports said citing Jet Airways representative Alex Cost’s statement to IANS.

Mr Cost was quoted as saying: “We operate a business and have to consider the bottom line by looking at routes which are more profitable and deliver better yields. We cannot afford to lose money. We look only at business decisions and not at any political decisions.”

Mr Cost added that the Africa plan has not been completely abandoned.
