Swiss Air Lines to Increase Fuel Surcharge

Swiss International Air Lines has reported that it will increase fuel surcharge for long-haul flights by CHF10 to CHF144 per sector.
According to the airline, the fuel surcharge for European flights will rise from CHF2 to CHF36 per sector. The new fuel surcharges will apply to all tickets for air travel originating in Switzerland, which are issued from March 18, 2008 onwards. Tickets issued up to and including March 17, 2008, will be subject to the present surcharge provisions.
The company said that it constantly monitors oil prices, and will continue to adjust its fuel surcharges in response to further fuel price trends on the commodities markets.
