Newark Liberty Airport Takes Steps to Ease Traffic
March 14, 2008
Airline operators have agreed for a two-year cap on flight growth at the Newark Liberty airport to ease the traffic in the greater New York area, reported MarketWatch, citing the US Department of Transportation.
The agency said that the airlines will also spread the timings of their services to fly an average of 83 flights an hour from the airport. This will allow 30 additional daily flight services in the summer.
According to the report, Newark is the 14th busiest airport in the US and Continental Airlines is one of the airport’s largest tenants.
