Kosovo Forced to Reintroduce More Power Cuts Due to Plant Breakdown

Prishtina [Pristina], 18 March: The Kosova [Kosovo] Energy Corporation (KEK) informed that today’s power cuts will be increased for the three categories, because the A3 unit of the Power Plant Kosova A and the B1 unit of the Power Plant Kosova B are out of production as a result of the leaking in the tube system of the vapor generator.
Moreover, the KEK informed that the repair work has begun in the two units, whereas until their repair, the power cuts will be according to the ABC plan.
Today the energy system is Kosova is depending on the production of the unit B2 of the power plant Kosova B, which is producing about 260 megawatts, unit A4, which is producing about 125 megawatts, hydro-electric power plant Ujman, which produces about 32 megawattts and the import from the region, which is about 36 megawatts.
The repair work ha begun in these two units, whereas it is evaluated that the energy supply will be stabilized when the units B1 and A3 will resume production.
