Researched by Industrial Info Resources (Sugar Land, Texas) -- Industrial Info is tracking more than $400 million of biomass-fueled power facilities scheduled to start construction in Georgia in the next 18 months. The majority of the capital spending will be in the Yellow Pines Energy Center being developed by Yellow Pine Energy Company LLC, an affiliate of Summit Energy Partners LLC and Morris Energy Group LLC. The developers have a 20-year power-purchase agreement with Georgia Power, a subsidiary of The Southern Company (NYSE:SO) (Atlanta), one of the country's largest electricity generators.
