Gazprom and Petrovietnam Discuss Further Co-Operation in Energy Sector

Russian gas monopoly Gazprom has held a meeting discussing the progress of the agreement of co-operation between the company and Petrovietnam in the oil and gas sector, underlining specific steps to speed up work.

In particular, the meeting discussed Gazprom and Petrovietnam’s possible participation in oil field development projects as well as joint activities in third countries.

Gazprom noted that prospecting works in Block 112 offshore Vietnam are performed by Vietgazprom, the joint operating company owned by Gazprom and Petrovietnam, pursuant to the co-operation agreement between the two firms.

In 2005, a decision was taken to extend the application of the contract to involve the adjacent Block 113.
