FirstEnergy Corp. Names Dennis L. Dabney Vice President of Human Resources
AKRON, Ohio, March 31 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- FirstEnergy Corp. announced today that Dennis L. Dabney has joined the company as vice president of Human Resources. Previously, Mr. Dabney was the director of Human & Labor Relations at DTE Energy, the parent company of Detroit Edison.
"With a strong background in labor relations, safety and benefits management, combined with his experience at another large electric utility, Dennis will be a great addition to our company," said Lynn M. Cavalier, senior vice president, Human Resources, FirstEnergy. "His expertise will help us build on the successful corporate safety programs, labor relations activities, and employee benefits functions we now have in place."
In addition to DTE Energy, Mr. Dabney developed a wide variety of human and labor relations expertise at Thyssenkrupp-Budd, one of the world's largest automobile parts manufacturers, and the Budd Company.
Mr. Dabney received bachelor and master's degrees in personnel administration from Eastern Michigan University and received a law degree from the University of Detroit Mercy. He is a member of the Michigan Bar Association and a University of Detroit Mercy alumni board member.
