Brazilian integrated energy firm Petrobras, Japanese trading group Mitsui and Camargo Correa have launched PMCC Projetos de Transporte de Alcool, aimed at executing the ethanol pipeline project to be built between Senador Canedo and Paulinia, in addition to the section that will interconnect the Tiete-Parana waterway to the Paulinia terminal.

Petrobras said that the pipeline’s development is an important factor to develop the international ethanol market and to ensure Brazil’s leadership in biofuels, by improving logistics to give it a competitive edge in ethanol exports.

The ethanol pipeline is part of the ethanol exports corridor, which begins at the Senador Canedo terminal, in Goias, goes through Uberaba in Minas Gerais, and extends to Ribeirao Preto, Paulinia, and then to Guararema in Sao Paulo.

From the Guararema terminal, the pipeline goes on to the Sao Sebastiao terminal, on the northern coast of Sao Paulo, and to the Ilha d’Agua terminal, in Rio de Janeiro, via the existing Osrio polyduct, which will start being used solely to transport ethanol.
