Hero Honda to Start Operations in New Plant

Hero Honda has announced that it will start operations at its third manufacturing plant in India at Haridwar in April 2008.
Pawan Munjal, managing director of Hero Honda, has said that the plant will have an initial installed capacity of 500,000 units per year but will subsequently be tripled to 1.5 million.
The Economic Times has reported that the company has so far invested INR4.5 billion in the plant. The construction of the plant was completed in 2007.
Hero Honda currently has a total production capacity of 3.9 million units at its two facilities in Haryana.
