EDI Exploration Drilling International GmbH Starts First Drilling Project for Coca-Cola in Pakistan
Exploration Drilling International Inc. (OTCBB: EXDL) reports that EDI Exploration Drilling International GmbH has received a contract to begin with the first drinking water drilling project for Coca-Cola in Pakistan at the end of April. Coca-Cola Beverages Pakistan Ltd. is planning a new filling plant near Karachi and drilling operations were originally scheduled for last year, but these were postponed by the soft drinks corporation because of the political situation.
EDI regards this contract as confirmation of its business strategy for Asia as a whole. Successful completion of this project in Pakistan will provide EDI with substantial credibility and will hopefully lead to additional contracts. EDI’s concrete tasks consist of surveying existing ground water sources and evaluating their quality, quantity and suitability for beverage production. For this purpose four test bore holes will be drilled in two different locations and analysed locally. The relevant equipment has already arrived, and operations will begin as soon as a drilling foreman and a hydrologist arrive from Germany. The project will be centrally controlled and coordinated by Coca-Cola International in Istanbul.
A decisive argument: effective drinking water exploration conserves the environment
“Coca-Cola decided in favour of our system for three reasons,” states Christian Runge, CEO of EDI Exploration Drilling International GmbH. “Cost, technology and environment. A single bore hole permits any number of samples to be taken at different depths and then analysed, which cuts costs by up to 40 % compared to conventional methods. At the same time our ‘Fluid Finder’ can easily be integrated into existing technology and operational processes. In emerging countries like Pakistan particular value is attached to the integration of local business. We therefore regard ourselves as enablers for regional drilling companies, whose skills we can reinforce with our advanced technology. The third point, which concerns the environmental-friendliness of the drilling operations and the sustainable use of resources, will become increasingly significant in future.”
