HOUSTON, April 2, 2008 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Continental Airlines recently announced a multi-year marketing partnership with the New Jersey Performing Arts Center (NJPAC) in Newark, New Jersey, signing on as the organization's Official Airline. Elements of the partnership include cooperative advertising and joint marketing promotions through the 2010 season.
"We are very pleased to partner with NJPAC," said Mark Bergsrud, Continental's senior vice president of marketing programs and distribution. "As host to some of the world's most acclaimed performers, NJPAC has contributed enormously to Newark's revitalization and we are proud to support their efforts."
"Over and over again, Continental has demonstrated its commitment to the city and people in the Newark, New Jersey market," said Lawrence P. Goldman, NJPAC's President and CEO. "There is an unmistakable synergy between Continental and NJPAC in that we both care deeply about the future of New Jersey's largest city and continue to invest in its renaissance."
Continental was the Inaugural Sponsor for NJPAC and its Official Airline from 1996 to 2002. Continental's sponsorship of the performing arts center is another example of the carrier's ongoing commitment to Newark, where it employs more than 14,000 people. Continental is also the Official Airline of the New Jersey State Theatre and the New Jersey Symphony Orchestra as well as several other well known organizations in the region.
In addition to advertising and marketing promotions, the Continental-NJPAC partnership will provide benefits to Continental OnePass(R) members and NJPAC members including the opportunity to bid OnePass miles for the use of private boxes and salons at the arts center, dinner packages in the top-rated Theater Square Grill at NJPAC and backstage visits with cast members for select musical theater productions. NJPAC will also present a mini-performance in Newark Liberty International Airport's Terminal C to highlight upcoming presentations.
Since its world premiere in 1997, more than five million people have visited NJPAC to see the world's greatest performers and New Jersey's top talent and to attend one of hundreds of special events annually. From Itzhak Perlman to Mary J. Blige, the Peking Acrobats to the Vienna Choir Boys, the National Philharmonic of Russia to the Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater, the artistry on view at NJPAC is unparalleled.
