American Airlines Cargo division has announced that it has increased the per piece weight limit on its Expeditefs freight product from 100 to 300 pounds on narrowbody aircraft.
The Expeditefs is American Airlines Cargo's express freight product that provides priority boarding, a 97% service reliability metric and a 100% flown-as-booked guarantee.
The new Expeditefs service applies to direct narrowbody flights as well as those narrowbody flight routings connecting to or from an international flight. The service also applies to shipments connecting to American's truck feeder service.
Bob Dibble, manager of cargo products at American Airlines, said: "This enhancement to our Expeditefs product will provide shippers and forwarders with more options for getting their expedited freight across the US. In addition, the heavy pieces can connect to international flights, which allows us to utilize our vast network of narrowbody flights feeding our gateway cities."
