Parallel Petroleum Announces Management Presentations at IPAA Oil & Gas Investment Symposium and Howard Weil Energy Conference

Parallel Petroleum Corporation (NASDAQ: PLLL) today announced that its President & CEO, Larry C. Oldham, will present at the IPAA Oil & Gas Investment Symposium in New York and the Howard Weil Energy Conference in New Orleans next week.

The IPAA Oil & Gas Investment Symposium (OGIS) will be held at the Sheraton New York Hotel and Towers on Monday through Wednesday, April 7-9, 2008. Mr. Oldham's OGIS presentation will be webcast, complete with slide show. The webcast and slide show may be accessed live on Monday, April 7, 2008, at 11:20 a.m. Eastern Time (10:20 a.m. Central Time), at Parallel's web site, http://www.plll.com, or at http://www.investorcalendar.com/CEPage.asp?ID=126686. Playback of the webcast will be available following the conference.

The Howard Weil Energy Conference will be held at the Sheraton New Orleans Hotel on Sunday through Thursday, April 6-10, 2008. Mr. Oldham's Howard Weil presentation will be Wednesday, April 9, 2008, at 9:00 a.m. Eastern Time (8:00 a.m. Central Time). The Howard Weil Energy Conference presentations will not be webcast. Parallel's Howard Weil presentation slides, which will be identical to the OGIS presentation slides, will be available at Parallel's web site, http://www.plll.com.
