Wisconsin History Book to Be Released

Arcadia Publishing will release “Lead Mining Towns of Southwest Wisconsin,” a photo history, by Carol March McLernon, on Monday, April 7.

The book is a collection of more than 200 vintage photos focusing on the lead mining activities in such communities as Benton, New Diggings, Lead Mine, Shullsburg and Hazel Green.

McLernon lives in the Lake Geneva, Wis., area. She grew up in southwest Wisconsin and graduated from the University of Wisconsin- Platteville. She taught elementary school for many years.
