Alcatel-Lucent Selects Sierra Modules for Mobile Broadband Access
Posted on: Tuesday, 8 April 2008, 12:00 CDT
Alcatel-Lucent has selected Sierra Wireless to supply embedded modules for its wireless laptop security, management, and tracking system, the OmniAccess 3500 Nonstop Laptop Guardian.
The Nonstop Laptop Guardian (NLG) is currently available to enterprises through Sprint as the SprintSecure Laptop Guardian. Sierra Wireless is also working with Alcatel-Lucent on expansion and future generations of the NLG for 3G networks.
The Sierra Wireless modules embedded in the NLG provide reliable high-speed access to mobile broadband networks. For enterprise users, this enables convenient access from their laptops to email and information on corporate servers while working remotely, without the hassle of searching for a Wi-Fi hotspot.
Even presentations and other large files can be transferred in a few seconds, saving valuable time for mobile professionals rushing between meetings or coordinating projects with office-based colleagues.
