Bali Flight Website Inquiry

AUCKLAND police are investigating a New Zealand website that sells airline seats on non-existent direct flights between Auckland and Bali.

Detective Constable John Taylor said 10 people had paid about $1000 on credit cards for return flights to Bali next month. They complained after trying to contact the airline or website and could not do so.

Mr Taylor said it was a New Zealand- based site but would not give details, saying it could be an honest mistake. “It does look legitimate,” he said, adding that if he had been looking for a flight and came across the site, he too might have booked it.

Dozens of websites offer a variety of airline seat bookings between Auckland and Bali.
