New Shoshoni Ventures Ltd.: Company Mobilizes Perforating and Production Testing Equipment

Posted on: Thursday, 10 April 2008, 12:00 CDT

New Shoshoni Ventures Ltd. (TSX VENTURE: NSV)(FRANKFURT: NWV) (the "Company") is pleased to announce that it has mobilized perforation and production testing equipment to the 16-25-79-17 WSM well located in the Sunrise natural gas field.

The Company will be perforating the Paddy, Cadotte and Bluesky formations. Following perforation production flow testing will take place. Preliminary test results will be available by the middle of April.

The Company holds an option to earn a 65% interest (100% before pay-back) in a total of four sections in the Sunrise Region by drilling one exploration well per section. The company expects to drill an initial exploration well on each of the remaining three sections over the summer of 2008 to take advantage of the OGC summer drilling credits and in order to earn the remainder of its interest in these sections. Since the initial exploration well has encountered hydrocarbons at the Bluesky level, each additional exploration well will be drilled to the depth of the Bluesky formation. Maximum allowable well spacing in this region is 4 wells per section.

About the Sunrise Natural Gas field:

The Sunrise Natural Gas Field, located in Northeastern British Columbia, is known to host commercial quantities of hydrocarbons. Production data from other operators in the area indicates that both the Paddy and Bluesky, as well as other formations, produce in commercial quantities. Infrastructure related to exploration and production is excellent in the region. Companies with production in the Sunrise area include Crescent Point, Daylight Energy, Encana, GNP Oil and Gas, Pegasus Oil and Gas Inc, Petro-Canada, Pienza Petroleum Inc, and Terra Energy Corp. A gathering system for natural gas is in place nearby. Access to the properties is excellent, being located on farm land which has very limited relief. The Alaska Highway, a major arterial route in the region, and the City of Dawson Creek are nearby.

Robert (Bob) Redford P. Geol. Eng., a director of the company and a Qualified Person pursuant to NI 51-101 has reviewed and approved the technical content of this news release.

The Company continues to evaluate other potential opportunities in the oil and gas sector.
