Air China aims to carry 40.05 million passengers in 2008, which will be 15% more than the number of passengers the airline carried during the same period in 2007, reported China Aviation, citing XFN Asia as its original source.

According to the airline, its cargo target for the year 2008 has been set at 1.10 million tons, an increase of 17.9% from last year. Air China is expecting to see the passenger load factor at 80.1% and the cargo load factor at 55.5%.

The company is reported to have signed credit line agreements with commercial banks for CNY80 billion to support the working capital. It is likely to issue up to 400 million A-shares this year to make additions to its fleet.
