Czech Republic: Czech firms went on exporting during Jan-Feb 2008, in spite of the strong exchange rate of the Czech crown and the slowing down of the growth of the European economy. The trade balance of the Czech Republic resulted in a surplus of CEK 14.3 bil in Feb 2008. The total surplus for Jan-Feb 2008 is CEK 26.5 bil. According to a big part of analysts, the surplus for all 2008 should exceed the record surplus of CEK 86 bil for all 2007. The export increase was ensured mainly by the exports of machines, cars and electrical equipment and appliances. About 90% of total Czech exports go to the EU.
