Prishtina [Pristina], 16 April: The Kosova [Kosovo] Energy Corporation (KEK) is importing 200 megawatt energy per hour from the Albanian Power Corporation (KESH), due to the energy surplus from the production of the Albanian hydroelectric power plants. This energy will be returned to Albania during the summer when the Albanian hydroelectric power plants will produce less energy due to the lack of water, whereas the KEK will have energy surplus.

The spokesperson for the KEK, Nezir Sinani, told KosovaLive today that this import of energy has enabled the KEK to improve the energy supply for its consumers. He said that there are no power cuts for the consumers of the A and B category, whereas the consumers of the C category will have short power cuts in the evening hours.

He said that power cuts applied for the consumers of the C category are due to bad weather.

Sinani said that this agreement will last until the end of April, whereas according to him, the KEK will return the energy to Albania during the summer.

This agreement reflects the close cooperation between the KEK and the KESH [Albanian Energy Corporation] and at the same time it reflects the importance of coordinating the work of the energy systems for the stability of the domestic and regional energy systems.
