Incident Prompts Threat of Airline Boycott

Nigerians in Britain say they are threatening to boycott British Airways unless it apologizes for ordering 136 economy passengers off a flight to Lagos.
The action took place after a passenger complained about the way security officers were treating a man who was pleading not to be sent back to Nigeria, The Independent reported Monday.
Four or five officers were reportedly holding the crying man down in his seat as other economy class passengers boarded the jetliner.
The officers arrested the man and when others joined in his complaint the jetliner's captain ordered everyone in economy class off the plane.
The only person who eventually flew economy class on the flight was the unidentified man who was arrested.
The incident has created outrage among expatriate Nigerians, who have signed a protest letter calling on the Lagos government to intervene and threatening to boycott the airline unless it apologizes.
