Integrated Power Corporation (iPower) has announced the addition of local registered electrical engineer John Witchey, MSEE, P.E., as Vice President of Engineering to its already growing team of solar energy design specialists.
"We're extremely proud to have attracted an experienced licensed engineer of John Witchey's caliber to our team," said iPower President Eric Pollock. "iPower is committed to advancing professionalism in the solar industry, and hiring the best full-time experts available instead of relying on part-time consultants demonstrates that commitment. Our clients will benefit from John's consistent, high level professional expertise designing/reviewing every plan and project."
Witchey has extensive experience designing electrical engineering for architectural, building and renewable energy projects, including electrical design for a 20k square-foot fully photovoltaic powered earth-friendly bio-fueling station that also charges electric vehicles. Witchey has consulted for iPower's solar design projects for almost a year, and over the past three years has made PV a specialty. His extensive experience in designing residential and commercial size projects including multi megawatt PV installations, code compliant renewable energy system design and the electrical design and presentation of construction plans enhances iPower's engineering department.
Besides graduate-level courses at University of California, Berkeley, Witchey holds a Master of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Nevada, and received his Bachelor of Science in Electrical and Electronic Engineering from California State University at Chico including minors in Mathematics and Physics. Witchey has obtained registered Professional Electrical Engineer licenses in the states of California and Nevada. He is published and holds two US patents.
Witchey joined iPower "to help transform visionary technological ideals into realities. I believe in iPower's management team's long-term vision and the high level of standards they seek for the industry."
