S-Group Garners 20% of Finnish Retail Fuel Market, Draws Criticism

S-Group's fuel retail subsidiary ABC has increased its petrol station network to 86 service stations and 200 unmanned stations, giving S-Group a 20% share in the Finnish retail fuel market, drawing criticism from independent operators over unfair business practices, reported Esmerk.
The Association of Finnish Gasoline Retailers (SBL) has stated that independent petrol station operators are finding it difficult to compete with a large-scale operator such as S-Group in acquiring plots for filling stations.
The SBL reportedly believes that S-Group retailers are successful at land sales, due in part by the presence of many municipal-level politicians on the retailers' boards. The association has demanded much more transparent land dealings on the municipal level, according to the news source.
