Polish Food Industry Report Is Available Now
Research and Markets (http://www.researchandmarkets.com/reports/c90130) has announced the addition of “Polish Food Industry Report” to their offering.
Recently, Poland has been experiencing a constant rise of food prices. In December 2007, food and non-alcoholic beverage prices were 7.9% higher than a year ago and in the whole year they were growing at 4.9% y/y on average. Food prices alone grew 8.2% y/y in December, the Central Statistical Office (GUS) said.
Among the food products, the greatest surge was recorded in the following groups: poultry and flour (23% y/y each) and animal fats (22.4% y/y), fruits (20% y/y), milk, cheese and eggs (14.2% y/y) and rice (13% y/y).
A vast majority of experts claim this price growth is not to die out soon, however they emphasize it has been getting relatively smaller month by month. Agricultural and food products accounted for 9.9% of Poland’s export and 6.7% of the import in the first ten months of 2007. In the given period the export of this type of goods exceeded EUR 8.2bn (USD 11.6bn), which means it grew by 16.6% as compared to the entire 2006.”
