Researched by Industrial Info Resources (Sugar Land, Texas) -- Gulfstream Natural Gas System, a joint venture between Williams Companies (NYSE:WMB) and Spectra Energy (NYSE:SE), has begun construction on its Phase IV natural gas pipeline expansion. The expansion involves the construction of 17.8 miles of 20-inch-diameter pipeline from Tampa Bay to supply gas to the Bartow power plant. To support the new 155 million cubic feet per day (mmcfd) capacity to the power plant, Gulfstream is adding three new 16,000-horsepower Solar Mars T-100 turbine-driven compressor packages along its pipeline.
