Maroc Telecom Posts Md 8 Billion Profits

According to Al-Hayat newspaper (May 2, 2008), the Casablanca Stock Exchange Authority reported that Maroc Telecom, which is Morocco’s leading operator with eight million mobile subscribers and a rapidly expanding fixed-line customer base of 1.35 million, had posted MD 8 billion net profits in 2007, which is the highest profit volume recorded by a single company in the bourse history. Maroc Telecom, a 53% subsidiary of Vivendi, is the leader in Morocco’s telecommunications market. Maroc Telecom is listed on the Casablanca and Paris stock. ($1=MD7.4)
