O Canada, Welcome to Richmond!
May 6, 2008
To welcome new service to Richmond International Airport, fire trucks put up arcs of water over an 37-seat turboprop Air Canada Jazz plane as it arrived from Toronto yesterday. The cake featured the airline’s red and white colors. The service by the Canadian regional carrier is important, airport spokesman Troy Bell said, because Toronto is Richmond’s No. 1 international business destination. About 16,000 passengers a year travel between the cities, he said. Yesterday’s flights brought 17 passengers to Richmond and 10 to Toronto.
