Eni and Sonangol Announce Oil Discovery in Angola

Italian oil and gas corporation Eni and Angola’s Sonangol have announced an oil discovery in the deepwaters of Block 15/06, located some 350 kilometers north of Luanda, in the Angolan offshore.
The exploration well (called Sangos 1) which led to the discovery has been drilled at a water depth of 1,349 meters and to a total depth of 3,343 meters. Eni is operator of Block 15/06.
During production tests, the well produced quality oil in greater quantities than expected. Field dimensions and results are better than estimated. Further wells will be drilled in the surrounding areas in order to develop synergies in the western part of the block.
