Pdo Graduation Ceremony
According to Oman News: PDO graduation ceremony for the 20th batch funded by PDO was held at the Ministry of Oil and Gas today under the auspices of Nasser bin Khamis al Gashmi, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Oil and Gas and member of the board of directors of PDO. John Malcolm, PDO’s Managing Director delivered a speech in which he pointed out that the joining of those Omani youths to the work market is an added value to the Omani highly qualified talents working for the company.He also pointed out that these graduates join more than 1000 of their colleagues who benefited from the educational programmes sported by the company in collaboration with international universities including Sultan Qaboos University recently. The company currently supports 10 of its employees who are studying to get MA degrees from SQU. Malcolm also highlighted the company’s future oil exploration projects pointing out that the company initiated a number of Enhanced Oil Recovery (EOR) projects which will be a key factor in maintaining the Sultanate’s sustainable-ability to produce oil in the coming years. He also pointed out that PDO is currently evaluating a number of EOR projects and many of them will be implemented. PDO also continues its efforts to develop and produce natural gas.’This means that we have good employment opportunities for skilled personnel to push forward these projects. Those youth will be provided with the required training and experience to help them shoulder their commitments efficiently. At the end of the ceremony, the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Oil and Gas handed over graduation certificates to 42 fresh graduates including 4 Ph.D holders, 17 MA degree in science holders, 18 with university degrees, as well as 3 with MA degree in Business Management. The ceremony was attended by a number of officials at the Ministry of Oil and Gas and PDO.
