advisers from Leeds including BTG McInnes Corporate Finance, DLA Piper, Walker Morris, Eversheds and Grant Thornton worked together to deliver a management buyout for a leading bathroom equipment business.

The management of Kudos Shower Products, of Kendal, has taken a majority stake in the business at the same time as the firm bought- out Aquamark, its South African associate companies.

Kudos, which has 84 staff in Cumbria and 25 in South Africa, manufactures shower enclosures and trays which are sold through builders’ merchants to housebuilders and in bathroom showrooms across Britain.

Managing director Jim Watson led the buyout, which saw him and senior management acquire a significant majority stake in the enlarged group for an undisclosed sum from founder Bruce Ledwith.

Mr Ledwith remains as chairman and a significant shareholder in the business that he founded in late 2000.
