Wal-Mart will identify engineering experts to perform an energy audit of the participating facilities and provide recommendations for ways to save energy, lower electricity costs and reduce greenhouse gas emissions.
The 20 states and commonwealths are: Arkansas, Connecticut, Florida, Iowa, Kentucky, Minnesota, Missouri, Montana, Nebraska, Nevada, New Hampshire, New Jersey, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Puerto Rico, South Carolina, South Dakota, Tennessee, Virginia and West Virginia.
Matt Kistler, senior vice president of sustainability for Wal-Mart, said: "The program shows how governments and the private sector can work together to address issues of importance to all Americans, like increasing energy efficiency and decreasing greenhouse gas emissions."
