PPL EnergyPlus to Supply Natural Gas to Pennsylvania Universities

PPL EnergyPlus, the trading and marketing subsidiary of PPL Corporation, has won contracts to supply natural gas to the Pennsylvania State System of Higher Education beginning in June 2008.
PPL EnergyPlus will supply natural gas to Cheyney, East Stroudsburg, Kutztown, Lock Haven, Mansfield and Shippensburg universities and Dixon University Center, a regional education hub in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania.
The contracts, which vary in length from 10 months to three years, will provide a total volume of about 1.3 billion cubic feet of natural gas.
Joe Hopf, president of PPL EnergyPlus, said: "The Pennsylvania State System of Higher Education joins a growing number of customers who are turning to PPL EnergyPlus for natural gas. Our experience managing natural gas supply for PPL's fleet of power plants helps us understand the market and use that knowledge to meet the diverse needs of our customers."
