Spectra Energy, understanding the importance of public involvement in the development of its projects, has established a stakeholder outreach team that will be led by Waller. The company plans to invest more than $3.5 billion through 2010 in new pipelines, gas processing, storage, and distribution infrastructure.
Waller and the stakeholder outreach team will enhance Spectra Energy's outreach and communications, keeping interested parties engaged with projects and the regulatory review process.
"We are making significant investments across the country so it is imperative that we engage with stakeholders who are interested in learning about our proposed projects. More importantly, we want stakeholders to know they can talk with us about their issues and concerns," said Toni Beck, group vice president, internal and external affairs, Spectra Energy. "Susan's experience in developing outreach programs and her knowledge of the natural gas industry will strengthen these efforts."
Before joining Spectra Energy, Waller served as vice president for AMEC, Earth Environmental, where she managed the oil and gas sector. Prior to that, she was vice president with the Shaw Group, Inc., and with Regulatory Compliance Partners, Inc. She also served in numerous leadership positions at El Paso Corporation, including director for government and project affairs.
