Storms Knock Out Power for Thousands
May 14, 2008
Over 6,000 Appalachian Power customers were still without electricity Monday evening because of Sunday’s storms, according to information on Appalachian Power’s Web site.
More than 40,000 customers were initially without power. Clay and Fayette counties still had about 1,400 customers each without power Tuesday. Kanawha had over 900.
Felled trees on power lines led to most of the outages, said Appalachian Power spokesman Phil Moye on Sunday.
