Chief Scientific Consultant of Sunrain Group, Dr. Harding, Receives Highest International Solar Energy Award

HANGZHOU, China, May 14 /Xinhua-PRNewswire/ -- Sunrain Group announced today that on May 5, 2008, during the ''Solar2008'' Solar Congress, held in San Diego, the Company's chief scientific consultant, Dr. Harding was awarded the highest international solar energy award. The award was given based on Dr. Harding's continued research in ''energy saving standards'' technology in solar energy.

Mr. Harding is a Doctor of the Australian Scientific Academy of Engineering, who has outstanding achievements in solar energy technology. In 2006, after he was engaged as the chief scientific consultant of Sunrain Group, he researched ''energy saving standards'' technology in solar energy, making solar water heaters with good thermal absorption and preservation performance. It brought the world solar energy industry from the ''thermal absorption era'' to ''thermal preservation era''. At present, solar energy with ''energy saving standards'' have been spread to about 4 million square meters in the across the world. At the end of 2007, Dr. Harding researched a new kind of vacuum tube named Antarctic Pole vacuum tube for Sunrain Group, which is the perfect combination of high efficient thermal absorption and thermal preservation, making ''energy saving standards'' technology upgrade further.
It is known that the ''Holter Award'' is named after the professor of Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Mr. Holter. Because from the end of 1930s to mid-1960s, some research fruits of professor Holter laid foundation for the development of global solar energy. In order to memorize a series of efforts and outstanding contributions that professor Holter has made to the solar energy industry, American Solar Energy Association set up the ''Holter Award'' so as to cite those persons who have contributed to solar energy. The ''Holter Award'' is the highest award in the solar industry throughout the world. It is chosen once each year, and the chief condition is that the candidate must make significant contributions to the technological development of the solar energy field.
