AGL Partners With Wind Prospect for Fourth Hallett Wind Farm
Australian energy services provider AGL has signed a development agreement with European energy developer, Wind Prospect, which the former expects will pave the way for a fourth wind farm at Hallett in South Australia.
The deal will reportedly enable AGL to acquire the rights to develop a wind farm, provided it manages to get the required approvals.
According to Michael Fraser, managing director of AGL, if the project is approved, it is likely to be the biggest of all of the company’s Hallett developments, providing over 63 turbines that would generate sufficient power to run 67,000 average homes.
AGL is expecting the decision to be given by the end of next financial year, and the construction of the farm is scheduled to commence in 2011.
