Austrian Airlines to Increase Fuel Surcharge

Austrian Airlines has reported that due to the increased kerosene purchase prices it will increase its fuel surcharge for short and medium-haul flights from the current level of E17 to E21.
The fuel surcharges on long-haul routes also will increase from E77 to E82. These new charges apply to all tickets for flights operated by the Austrian Airlines sold or issued from May 20, 2008 onwards.
By making this adjustment, the company is reacting to the dramatic price increase in the purchase of Jet Fuel Rotterdam. In 2007, the average price level had risen to $709 per ton.
