Kyrgyz Leader Arrives in Tajikistan for Talks

Bishkek, 16 May: A plane carrying Kyrgyz President Kurmanbek Bakiyev has arrived in Tajikistan.

A meeting is planned between Bakiyev and Tajik President Emomali Rahmon upon arriving in the town of Khujand in [northern] Tajikistan’s Sughd Region.

During the meeting, the sides intend to discuss the implementation of agreements reached during the Tajik president’s official visit to Kyrgyzstan in September 2007, as well as the further extension of bilateral mutually beneficial cooperation between the [two] brotherly countries.

Several bilateral documents are planned to be signed after the meeting.
