Cargill Launches New Natural Sweetener Brand

Cargill has introduced Truvia brand, a zero-calorie natural sweetener made from rebiana, an extract of stevia leaf.
The company has described Truviai as a significant milestone for its emerging zero calorie sweetener business with application across food, beverage and tabletop products. The company has spent more than two years validating the consumer demand for this new sweetener.
Steve Snyder, vice president of health and nutrition at Cargill, said: “This new, natural sweetener leverages Cargill’s expertise in specialty food ingredients, agronomy, food science and safety as well as consumer insight and marketing capabilities.”
