Hofmeister Named Winner of National Minority Supplier Development Council Leadership Award

HOUSTON, May 19 /PRNewswire/ — WHAT:

John Hofmeister, retiring president of Shell Oil Company, has been named recipient of the prestigious Corporate Leadership Award by the National Minority Supplier Development Council (NMSDC). The award will be presented during the organization’s annual Leadership Awards Dinner-Dance. More than 1,700 guests are expected to attend the event, including CEOs and executives of Fortune 500 corporations and minority business owners from across the nation.

The award recognizes the collective efforts of Hofmeister and the Shell and Motiva employees who make diversity a priority. Over the past three years, Shell’s direct spend with certified minority-owned firms was almost $900 million, and combined with second-tier efforts with prime suppliers, exceeded $1 billion. Hofmeister is the first Shell recipient of this award.
